“BaePool” (hereinafter referred to as “the App” or “We” or “Our” or “Us”) understands that your privacy is important to you, and it is equally important to us. We may process your personal data in the capacity of a Data Fiduciary. We are committed to respecting your privacy and protecting your personal data, which is any information that is capable of identifying you as an individual person.

This Privacy Policy describes the information about you that we will collect through this app, how that information is used, maintained, shared, protected and how you can update it. It also applies to all personal data received by us, from India, in any format, including electronic or paper.

We will process your personal data in accordance with this Privacy Policy, unless such processing conflicts with the requirements of applicable law, in which case, applicable law will prevail.

By submitting your personal data to us, you acknowledge that:

  • You have read and understood this Privacy Policy and agree to the use of your personal data as set out here. Your personal data may be transferred and processed by business units, processes and systems in all countries in which we may potentially conduct our business and have dealings or other business relationships with third parties, for the purposes and in the manner specified in this policy.
  • You are not obligated to provide any requested information to us, but failing to do so may result in not being able to proceed with your requirement.
  • All of your representations are true and correct to the best of your knowledge and belief, and you have not knowingly omitted any related information of an adverse nature. Providing any inaccurate information may make you liable to suspension or removal from the App entirely.
  • This Privacy Policy applies to all users and visitors (“You” and “Your”) of our App and services. By accessing or using our App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy and our Terms & Conditions.

DEFINITIONS

App

Refers to the BaePool mobile application and related services, including all features across the three core verticals: Professional Networking, Dating, and Community Building.

Personal Data

It refers to any direct or indirect data or information relating to an identifiable individual or legal entity. Such data/information can include name, email address, any identification number (Aadhar Card, Social Security Number, etc.), phone number, date of birth, physical mark or biometric information, etc. The Personal Data/Information shall be further classified as Sensitive Personal Data depending upon the sensitivity of the information type.

Data Principal / User

Refers to any individual who accesses, uses, or interacts with the App, including but not limited to registered users, visitors, and individuals who provide personal data through enquiry forms or other means.

Data Fiduciary

It refers to BaePool, which determines the purpose and means of processing personal data.

Consent

Refers to the free, specific, informed, unambiguous, and non-coercive agreement by a Data Principal to the processing of their personal data for specified purposes.

INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE

We collect personal data mainly through the enquiry form, i.e. we collect and retain any personal data that users provide in response to a survey question in accordance with this Privacy Policy, and do not share or use the information for any other purpose. To keep our enquiry forms accurate and relevant, we may change our questions or form format from time to time.

We will collect and process your personal information to provide you with a seamless and meaningful experience across the three core verticals of our platform: Professional Networking, Dating, and Community Building.

The data collected is based on your free, specific, informed, unambiguous and non-coercive consent. The consent is obtained by ticking a positive statement (in the enquiry form) and additionally filing a consent form attached to the enquiry form.

The following data is collected, processed and stored:

Information You Provide

  • Name, email address, phone number;
  • Gender, age, date of birth, sexual orientation;
  • Profile photos, bios, and uploaded media;
  • Biometric information for confirmation of identity; In order to ensure the safety and security of everyone on our App, and give people the best possible user experience, we require every person using our App and Sites to verify their accounts. This would entail filling in your phone number as well as a live photo verification and/or Aadhar ID verification. This allows us to make sure the people signing up for the App and its services are people of the appropriate age (i.e., not minors), avoid fake accounts that can be used for malicious activities and cybercrime, and prevent fraud.
  • Location (city, state, country) (This can include information about WiFi access points and your longitude/latitude, and we can save your device’s coordinates to offer certain features to you. For instance, enabling your general location information to appear to people seeing your profile, and the App would also show you the profiles of people who are near you).
  • Professional background, job title, company name, education;
  • Preferences (dating, networking, community interests);
  • Messages and content shared in chat or posts; and,
  • Feedback, surveys, and complaints.

Automatically Collected Data

  • Device information (type, model, OS, unique device ID);
  • IP address, browser type;
  • Location (approximate or precise GPS with explicit permission);
  • App usage data, session time, features accessed;
  • Crash logs and diagnostic data; and,
  • Timestamps of content shared and conversations (public and private)

Third-party Data

  • Data from linked social accounts (Google, Apple, LinkedIn);
  • Identity verification services (if applicable); and,
  • In-app purchases via third-party payment processors.

Automated systems and algorithms for:

  • Generating bios on the basis of information fed into the App by the users;
  • Matchmaking (dating or networking);
  • Content moderation; and,
  • Community recommendation feeds.

Note: No decision with significant legal or similar effects will be made without human oversight.

Additional Information We Collect: We collect data from the email communication so exchanged to and from between BaePool and the users.

We limit the collection and retention of your personal data to the minimum necessary to achieve the intended purpose of data processing. Unnecessary data is neither requested nor retained.

Profile Visibility and User Controls - Users can control the visibility of their profiles (e.g., public, or visible only to matched users, or incognito mode, i.e., private to all). Options are provided to block/report Users and control who can contact you. However, “Community Building” posts may be public depending on group settings.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We collect and process your personal data for lawful business and research reasons. Here are the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your user profile;
  • To respond to your enquiries and ensure effective functioning of our App for you;
  • To match users for dating, networking, and community engagement, specifically in the following manner:
    • Professional Networking: To help you connect with like-minded professionals and mentors, explore career opportunities, and build meaningful industry relationships. This includes:
      • Creating and displaying your professional profile (e.g., job title, company, education);
      • Enabling search, discovery, and recommendations for collaborators, employers, or industry peers; and,
      • Facilitating messages, event participation, and group interactions relevant to your field.
    • Dating: To support safe, respectful, and personalised matchmaking experiences. This includes:
      • Collecting personal, sexual orientation, and preference data to help identify compatible matches;
      • Enabling profile visibility, mutual interest features (like or match), and in-app communication; and,
      • Using limited automated profiling to suggest relevant matches based on your interests and interactions.
    • Community Building: To provide a space for shared interests, social engagement, and user-generated content. This includes:
      • Enabling you to join and participate in community groups, forums, or discussions;
      • Allowing content creation such as posts, event RSVPs, and shared media; and,
      • Recommending communities or activities that align with your interests or demographic profile.

    Note: Your personal data is only used for the purposes outlined above and in accordance with your selected preferences and privacy settings. You can control your participation in each vertical individually and adjust your data sharing preferences at any time via the app’s settings.

  • To allow messaging and content sharing between users;
  • To personalise recommendations and app content;
  • To conduct research, analytics, and performance improvement;
  • To send alerts for new service and feature updates, notifications, and promotional messages (with opt-out option; however, please remember that even if you opt out of receiving marketing emails, we may still send you important service information related to your enquiries and course subscriptions);
  • To moderate content and ensure platform safety;
  • To comply with legal requests and enforce our terms;
  • Maintaining communication records; and
  • Complying with legal obligations, i.e., we may be required to use and retain personal information for legal and compliance reasons, such as the prevention, detection, or investigation of a crime, loss prevention or fraud. We may also use personal data to meet our internal and external audit requirements, for information security purposes, and as we otherwise believe to be necessary or appropriate.

Processing of Sensitive Information (specifically for Dating Vertical)

Additionally, in connection with the services offered on this App, particularly within the dating vertical, we may collect and process certain categories of sensitive personal data as defined under applicable data protection laws. This may include information relating to your sexual orientation, gender identity, and dating preferences, where you voluntarily provide such information as part of your user profile or interactions on the App.

  • We recognize that such information is highly sensitive and undertake to process it strictly in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including but not limited to the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India), and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (as and where applicable).
  • Such sensitive personal data shall be processed solely for the purpose of enabling core functionalities of the App, improving matchmaking accuracy, and personalizing your experience.
  • We do not process such data for profiling or automated decision-making without your prior consent.

All the personal data is processed based on (a) your consent; and (b) lawful business interests.

We endeavour to collect only such information that is reasonably necessary to perform services for you or to respond to your inquiries.

We will use your personal information only for the specific purposes stated in this Privacy Policy. Any additional uses will require further consent, unless legally permitted or required by applicable law.

We do partially engage in automated decision-making and profiling that would have a legal or similarly significant effect on you with your explicit consent, unless otherwise required by law. Once you register and create an account across any vertical, you accept and consent to such AI integration and usage by us. The integration and usage of such technology in our app is only for the purpose of protection of the ecosystem, users, and individuals directly or indirectly affected by the activities on the App.

INFORMATION SHARED

We do not share your data with the public or any other party.

We do not sell any of your personal data to any third parties, business partners, or any other entity.

Third-Party Analytics

We may use third-party analytics services, such as Google Analytics, to better understand how users interact with our App, and to improve its functionality, performance, and user experience. These analytics providers may collect certain information about your device, browsing actions, and usage patterns and interactions with our App.

The information collected by these third-party analytics providers is used solely for the purpose of analysing user behaviour and enhancing our services. We do not share your personal data with these analytics providers unless it is anonymized or aggregated in a manner that does not identify you as an individual.

You can manage or restrict the collection of analytics data through your device settings or opt-out options provided by specific analytics service providers. For more information on how third-party analytics providers handle your information, please refer to their respective privacy policies.

DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA

Law Enforcement or Government Agencies

We reserve the right under certain circumstances to disclose your Personal Data as may be required to do so by law enforcement agencies, the Data Protection Board of India or any judicial body, and state or central government authorities. This may be done in response to a valid request by such agencies, judicial bodies or authority to investigate or remedy potential violations of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others, we may share your information as permitted or required by any applicable law, rule, or regulation. This may include exchanging your information by us with other entities for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

Information disclosures entailed by activation of the SOS Button by the user(s).

  • Feature Description: The SOS button empowers users in distress to send an automated alert containing: (i) Current GPS location (coordinates, as well as location); (ii) Registered phone number and a subset of profile information of the concerned user (name, profile photo); and (iii) Timestamp of said alert.
  • Initiation & Consent: (i) Activation requires explicit user confirmation (“Are you sure?”); and (ii) First-time use triggers a permissions prompt to allow SOS-related data collection.
  • Who Receives Alerts: Alert goes simultaneously to: (i) Primary and secondary emergency contact (supplied by the user while enrolling in the App); (ii) Local emergency services/police, where supported and enabled (per user’s geolocation and legal regulations); and (iii) The App Developers.
  • Data Collected & Shared: (i) Includes name, photo, phone number, last known GPS location, and the SOS timestamp; and (ii) No extra personal data (e.g., chat history, messages) is shared, unless the inbuilt App AI flags some content as concerning or potentially threatening to the mental or physical well-being of the user.
  • Security & Use Constraints: (i) SOS data is encrypted end-to-end and transmitted only at the time of alert; and (ii) We log each SOS activation with timestamp and transmission status, but do not store ongoing location updates (to prevent stalking misuse).
  • Retention & Removal: (i) Shared SOS data is retained for 1 year to allow follow-up or audit needs; and (ii) After 12 months, it is anonymised, removing Personally Identifiable Information (PII) but retaining metadata about usage events.
  • Misuse and Identities: Creating a false account or identity, or misrepresenting yourself as another user, or as someone not registered on the App at all, may result in account suspension or a ban from the App entirely, depending on the gravity of the offence.
  • Consent & Disclosure: (i) Users must explicitly opt-in to enable SOS setup; and (ii) The Privacy Policy clearly outlines what data is shared, with whom, and under what circumstances.

Business Investors

We may share your information with business investors for the purpose of conducting general business analysis.

DATA SECURITY

We have implemented commercially reasonable steps to protect the personal data/information provided to us from unauthorised access, disclosure, misuse, destruction, modification/alteration, or loss. Kindly note that, although we have made reasonable efforts, no security measure is ever perfect or impenetrable; therefore, we cannot guarantee the full security of personal data/information.

Therefore, the information provided by users and by any other individual or legal entity who engages with us is at their own risk.

Data Breach Notification

We will notify the Data Protection Board and affected Data Principals of any personal data breach as prescribed under the and in accordance with the applicable laws.

STORAGE OF INFORMATION

The personal data / information collected is stored on a database on Amazon Web Servers located within India, that are ISO 27001-certified and compliant with applicable data protection laws.

The consent to continue using our App and services so provided, it explicitly indicates your agreement to the transfer of data.

DATA RETENTION PERIOD

We retain the personal data of you and users engaging with our App for a time period of twelve (12) months, from the date of the first interaction, to reasonably satisfy the purpose for which it was collected or as long as necessary to comply with legal obligations, or for the establishments, exercise or defence of a legal claim, or to resolve disputes.

After this period of retention, data will be securely deleted unless required by law.

USER REPRESENTATIONS AND DUTIES

You as the user are responsible for:

  • Reading and understanding all policies on our App;
  • Providing accurate information;
  • Maintaining confidentiality of credentials;
  • Reporting unauthorised access; and
  • Using our services in compliance with applicable laws.

USER RIGHTS

We take reasonable steps that are designed to keep your personal data accurate, complete, and up-to-date for the purposes for which it is collected and used. You have a number of rights as Data Principals in accordance with the DPDPA, and the applicable regulations. You have the following rights:

  • Summary of Personal Data: Request access to a summary of personal data, and understand how the data is collected, used, shared, and stored;
  • Correction of personal data: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data and update your profile information at any time within the app;
  • Erase personal data: You have the right to ask us to delete or remove personal data when there is no good reason for us to continue processing it, as well as the right to request deletion of specific posts, chats, or other content; However, data may be retained if required to comply with legal obligations, and in case of usage of the SOS button, SOS incident logs may be retained for safety or legal investigation purposes (for as long as needed to comply and cooperate with the laws for the time being in force in India).
  • Withdrawal of Consent: You have the right to withdraw previously given consent for processing sensitive data (e.g., location, dating preferences, sexual orientation), or to disable access to camera, microphone, location, contacts, or other device permissions via phone settings or in-app controls.
  • Right to object to use of data for: (a) Direct marketing or profiling; and (b) Automated recommendations (e.g., matchmaking or job matching) based on your profile.
  • Grievance: File grievances with the Data Protection Board of India in case of severe issues; and
  • Nominate: You can nominate another person to exercise these rights in case of death or incapacity.

Note: Some of the above-mentioned rights are as per the DPDPA requirements and can be exercised by Indian Data Principals only.

Depending upon the circumstances and the request, BaePool may not be permitted to provide access to personal data or otherwise fully comply with your request; for example, in cases where producing your information may reveal the identity of someone else. We reserve the right to charge an appropriate fee for complying with your request, allowed by applicable law, and/or to deny your requests, at our discretion, they may be unfounded, excessive, or otherwise unacceptable under applicable law.

CONSENT

By accessing or using our App and services, you hereby acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy in its entirety and expressly consent to the collection, processing, storage, and use of your personal information as described herein.

Your consent is freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous, as evidenced by your clear affirmative action of using our services and submitting your information through our App.

The scope of your consent specifically extends to and includes -

  • The collection and processing of your personal information, including but not limited to your name, email address, and inquiry content, for the purposes specifically enumerated in this Privacy Policy;
  • The retention and storage of your personal information for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of your last interaction with our services;
  • The use of your personal information to communicate with you regarding our services, respond to your inquiries, and provide relevant updates about our offerings;
  • The analysis of your data and interaction patterns for the purpose of developing and improving our courses and services;
  • The transfer of your personal information to third-party service providers who assist in our operations, subject to appropriate data protection safeguards.

For Dating and Matrimonial Vertical

The User by creating a user profile and using the App, you may choose to provide us with sensitive personal data such as your sexual orientation, gender identity, and dating preferences.

We will seek your explicit, informed, and affirmative consent before collecting and processing such data. This consent shall be obtained: (a) At the time of account registration (via a clear consent checkbox that is not pre-checked), and (b) At any point where you update your profile to include or modify such sensitive data.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by accessing the Privacy Settings within the App. Upon withdrawal of consent, we shall cease further processing of such data and may, in accordance with applicable laws and our Terms, restrict certain features of the App that rely on such information.

Your consent shall remain valid and effective until expressly withdrawn by you in writing. You maintain the right to withdraw your consent at any time by contacting our Grievance Officer through email.

The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. We reserve the right to terminate or limit our services if consent is withdrawn and such consent is necessary for service provision.

We may seek renewal of your consent at reasonable intervals as required by law or operational necessity. Such renewal requests shall be communicated to you through the contact information provided by you. Failure to renew consent when requested may result in the discontinuation of services.

LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES

Our App may contain links to other websites that are not operated by us. If users click on a third-party link, they will be directed to that third- party’s site. We strongly advise users to review the Privacy Policy of every site they visit.

We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party sites or services.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices or data security of third-party websites, even if linked from our App. We encourage users to review third-party privacy policies before sharing any personal data.

CHILDREN OR MINORS

We do not knowingly collect, process, store or transfer the personal information of users under the age of 18 years. If we learn that the personal data of an individual under 18 years of age has been collected without verifiable parental consent, then we will take the appropriate steps to delete such information, as well as suspend or disable the account publishing such information or data.

If users believe we may have erroneously collected information from or about a child under 18 years of age, please contact us.

WE STRICTLY STATE THAT OUR SERVICES ARE NOT INTENDED FOR CHILDREN.

GOVERNING LAWS AND RULES

This Policy shall be governed by the laws applicable in the territory of the Republic of India.

The laws specifically applicable to this policy but not limited to include, the Information Technology Act, 2000, The Digital Persons Data Protection Act, 2023, the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and their subsequent amendments, rules, gazetted notifications, schedules and annexures, etc.

In the event of any dispute, the jurisdiction of the courts shall be at Pune, Maharashtra (India). We shall endeavour to resolve any issue, claim, concern or dispute related to this Policy in an amicable and informal negotiation(s). If no favourable resolution is reached, it shall proceed to formal court proceedings.

DISCLAIMER

Notwithstanding our commitment to protecting your personal information and maintaining the quality of our services, you expressly acknowledge and agree that,

  • While we implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We therefore cannot warrant or guarantee the absolute security of any information you transmit to us or that we store;
  • We shall not be held responsible or liable for the privacy practices, data handling procedures, or content of any third-party websites that may be linked to our App; and
  • Technical issues, maintenance requirements, or factors beyond our reasonable control may occasionally affect our services and data processing capabilities.

You hereby acknowledge and agree that,

  • The accuracy and completeness of personal information provided by you is your sole responsibility;
  • Any consequences arising from the provision of inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information shall be borne solely by you;
  • We reserve the right to verify the accuracy of information provided and to deny or terminate services in cases of false or misleading information provision;
  • We shall not be liable for any damages or losses resulting from our reliance on information provided by you.

Disclaimer for Professional Services

You expressly acknowledge and agree that

  • The information and services provided through our App do not constitute legal, regulatory, or professional advice regarding professional networking, community or social activities or events, or dating;
  • Any reliance you place on our information or services is strictly at your own risk; and
  • You should consult appropriate professionals for specific advice pertaining to your particular circumstances.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law,

  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from - (i) Your use or inability to use our services; (ii) Unauthorized access to or alteration of your personal information; (iii) Statements or conduct of any third party on our services; (iv) Any other matter relating to our services; and
  • Our liability for any claims arising under this Privacy Policy shall be limited to the amount paid by you, if any, for the use of our services during the six (6) months immediately preceding the date of the claim.

We reserve the right to modify these disclaimers and limitations at any time, with such modifications becoming effective immediately upon posting on our App. Your continued use of our services following any such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the modified terms.

INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless BaePool, its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and suppliers from and against all losses, expenses, damages, and costs, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, from and against any and all losses, expenses, damages, liabilities, claims, demands, costs, including, without limitation, reasonable attorneys’ fees, court costs, and litigation expenses, whether direct or indirect, known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen, which may arise from or in connection with:

  • Any violation of this Privacy Policy by you;
  • Any unauthorized use of our services under your account;
  • Any violation of applicable laws or regulations;
  • Any violation of third-party rights;
  • Any claims arising from the provision of inaccurate or incomplete information by you.

FORCE MAJEURE EVENT

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under this Privacy Policy where such failure or delay results from any cause or event that is beyond our reasonable control (“Force Majeure Event”), including but not limited to:

  • Acts of God, natural disasters, or extreme weather conditions;
  • Governmental actions or interventions;
  • War, hostilities, invasion, or acts of foreign enemies;
  • Pandemic, epidemic, or public health emergencies;
  • Severe system or network disruptions;
  • Acts of terrorism, sabotage, or cyber-attacks;
  • National or regional emergency situations; and
  • Data Breaches or other cybersecurity incidents.

We shall notify you within 72 hours of becoming aware of a Force Majeure Event.

We shall take reasonable steps to minimize the impact of the Force Majeure Event; maintain essential services where possible; protect and preserve your data; resume normal operations as soon as practicable; and implement contingency plans as appropriate.

We will maintain, where possible, all in-App services, however, priority will be given to maintaining data security and integrity. We will endeavour for essential communication channels to be preserved.

The App and/or services shall be suspended if the Force Majeure Event continues for ten (10) consecutive days. Upon cessation of the Force Majeure Event, the App and the concerned services shall resume normally, and any delayed obligations or communications shall be fulfilled as soon as reasonably possible.

SEVERABILITY

If any provision of this Privacy Policy is found invalid, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

INDIAN PRIVACY COMPLIANCES

By using our App and services, you agree that your personal data may be transferred to and stored in India, and handled as described in this Privacy Policy.

Data Collection and Processing Details

We collect and process the following information, which you warrant is accurate and legally obtained:

  • Basic Information such as, name (individual or entity name), professional sector identification, current designation or role, and enquiry content and context.
  • Communication Data, i.e., email correspondence content, the timestamps and metadata, attachment information (if any), and communication preferences.
  • Technical Data may include IP addresses, browser type and version, access timestamps and session information.

All personal data processing is strictly limited to (a) providing services across all three (3) verticals, i.e., the Professional Networking, Dating, and Community Building platforms; (b) responding to inquiries; (c) legal compliance requirements; and (d) security maintenance.

Storage and Retention

  • Your personal data will be retained for one (1) year from the last interaction date, after which it will be securely deleted or anonymised unless specified within this Privacy Policy.
  • All personal data is primarily stored in India on secure servers, with email communications managed through Amazon Web Services. You explicitly acknowledge and accept that your data will be stored in these locations. We implement appropriate technical measures, regular security assessments and encryption protocols.
  • You acknowledge that emails are processed and stored on Amazon servers; therefore, Amazon’s privacy policies are applicable to email data. We cannot guarantee third-party server locations, although you accept these transfer arrangements. You acknowledge that technical information, including but not limited to such as the server logs related to your interactions with us and our App, might be stored by the cloud and processed in a different territory, i.e., outside India.

User Responsibilities

You expressly agree to (a) provide accurate information, (b) update data (as and when necessary), (c) protect access credentials, (d) report unauthorised access, and (d) comply with age restrictions outlined in this Privacy Policy.

CHANGES TO PRIVACY POLICY

As our App and services evolve and we perceive the need to use the information provided to us by users in other ways, we may from time to time modify and amend this Privacy Policy.

We encourage you to check our App at regular intervals to see the current version of the Privacy Policy in effect and modifications that may have been made to it.

COMPLAINTS AND REQUESTS
